“The airline should have told the airport in advance and the plane should have been parked in the air terminal on the apron,” Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia said in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, February 8. The comment comes after passengers of an IndiGo flight were seen having food on the Mumbai airport tarmac.
Scindia stated that an aircraft in Mumbai was parked on the tarmac and passengers had to have their meals there and this was unacceptable. “There was no reason for that to happen,” he said.
The aviation minister said that the passengers should have been disembarked and given food properly, and once the plane was ready, they should have been taken to their destination. Scindia stated that all the fines have been imposed for infringement of security.
