India – India now regularly using Boeing P-8I aircraft to boost land border surveillance and monitor line of control. The Navy is deploying Boeing P-8I as per the request from Indian Army to augment the border surveillance. Boeing P-8I is a USA origin advanced long range patrol aircraft which is primarily meant for hunting enemy submarines and maritime reconnaissance. The P-8I can be armed with missiles, rockets and depth charges with operating range of 2,300 kms. The Indian Navy currently has 12 P-8I aircraft acquired from USA for 3.2 billion USD and Navy has placed the aircrafts at INS Hansa at Goa for western costal region and INS Rajali at Arakkonam for eastern costal region.
